Scratch Tester is widely used to measure the adhesion of coating layer on the substrate from conventional wear resistant coatings to state-of-art display panel coatings

Measurement method

Scratch tester used a diamond stylus to add loads onto the coated surface.

It defines the level of loads where destruction of thin film first occurs as the critical load (Lc) and measures the adhesion between the coating layer and the substrate
